Iran attacks the world’s largest gas facility in Qatar

Iran provoked “considerable damage” in the largest gas distribution center in the world, located in Qatar, as reported on Thursday by the energy company of this Gulf State.

Neighboring countries allied with Washington are the main target of Iran’s attacks in response to the bombings by the United States and Israel that triggered the war in the Middle East.

Tehran has set its sights on energy facilities in the region.

QatarEnergy said emergency teams had been “immediately deployed to contain the fires” at the Ras Laffan facility on Qatar’s northern coast, caused by the impact of Iranian missiles.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar condemned what it described as “brutal Iranian attack on Ras Laffan”and stated that it represented a “direct threat to its national security.”

The Qatari Foreign Ministry subsequently ordered two Iranian diplomats to leave the country within 24 hours.

Finally, the Ministry of Defense in Doha stated that its air defenses intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles aimed at Ras Laffan, without any casualties being reported.
