The Israeli army said this Tuesday, October 14, that it had opened to put an end to a threat posed by suspects who approached its forces in the north of the Gaza Strip. Health authorities in the enclave said at least six Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire.

The army said the suspects exceeded the threshold for an initial Israeli withdrawal under a US-brokered ceasefire plan, in violation of the agreement.

Gaza’s local health authority said the Israeli army killed six Palestinians in two separate incidents in the enclave on Tuesday.

The incident comes after the peace agreement signed in Egypt and the release of 20 Israeli hostages alive by Hamas and almost 2000 Palestinian prisoners by Israel.

Hamas also sent the bodies of four murdered hostages to Israel, when what was planned was to send 28. Israeli authorities confirmed that two of the bodies are Guy Iluz and Bipin Joshi.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the delay in sending the remaining bodies would be seen as a violation of the peace agreement.
