Iúri Leitão wins Classic Loire Atlantique in the sprint and gives Caja Rural-Seguros RGA first victory of 2025 in France

The Portuguese cyclist Iúri Leitão won this Saturday the 25th edition of the Classic Loire Atlantique, in Nantes, France,imposing itself on the sprint after about 160 kilometers racing and ensuring the first triumph of the season for Caja Rural-Seguros RGA.

A race, integrated into the UCI Europe Tour circuitwas decided on the group finish, with the Portuguese Olympic champion overcoming the Polish Marcin Budziński and the Frenchman Mavric Beaune, second and third placed, respectively, confirming his effectiveness in the quick finishes.

After a good performance at the European Track Championships in February, winning two medals, Iúri Leitão returned to victories on the roadreinforcing the good form of the 27-year-old runner, Madison Olympic champion at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games alongside Rui Oliveira.

With this triumph in Nantes, the Portuguese cyclist now has 11 elite victories with the Spanish team. For this Sunday, new participation is planned in France, at La Roue Tourangelle, where they will try to maintain a good result.
