José Faria and Inês Barros won the silver medal this Thursday in the mixed Olympic pit (trap) team event at the Hunting Shooting World Cup, held in Tangier, Morocco, confirming one of the best recent results of the Portuguese team in this stage of the international circuit organized by the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF).
The Portuguese duo secured access to the final after finishing in second place, behind the Italian team, remaining in the medal discussion among the best teams in the competition. In the decisive phase, Portugal immediately secured its presence on the podium by overcoming the Czech Republic in the fight for bronze and then discussed gold with Italy, who ended up winning the final.
Inês Barros is one of the main references in Portuguese shooting, having already reached finals in major competitions and prominent positions in the ranking worldwide, while José Faria continues to establish himself among the best national experts in the discipline.
The silver medal in Tangier comes in a particularly competitive event, integrated into the official calendar of the Hunting Shooting World Cup, one of the main stages of the international circuit of the sport and which regularly brings together Olympic, world and European champions.
With the result, the Portuguese team reinforces its presence among the top teams in the trap discipline in mixed teams.
