The women’s final was particularly balanced and exciting. Maria Salgado came in better in the heat, but saw Lua Escudeiro respond with determination, standing out with a wave rated at 8.25 points. In the final moments, the turnaround was imminent, but the necessary score did not arrive by a small margin. The surfer from Santa Cruz won with 14.00 points, against 13.95 for her opponent, in one of the closest results in the recent history of the circuit.
In the men’s final, Francisco Ordonhas took the lead earlyreinforced by an excellent wave rated at 9.25 points. With a total of 17.90 points, the national champion surpassed Guilherme Ribeiro, who finished with 8.25, confirming a solid and confident start to the season.
With the result, the two winners start at the front of the general classification before the next stage of the circuit, the Go Chill Porto Pro, scheduled for April 24th to 26th, in Porto and Matosinhos.
