The DN knows that the Order of Doctors was also called to a meeting at the Ministry of Health on the 22nd, but it appears that this had also been requested by the organization itself, with the aim of discussing, exactly, topics such as “careers, closure of emergencies and proposals that the Order developed as solutions for various areas of health”.

As the president of doctors told DN, “the creation of regional emergencies is a concern for us and will be one of the topics that the Order wants to see discussed with the Minister”, because, he reaffirms, “we have nothing against the reorganization of emergencies, whether through the creation of a Metropolitan or Regional emergency, but it cannot be created by force. This would be a huge risk for the doctors who are still in these units to leave of the National Health Service (SNS), and I don’t think anyone wants that.”

Carlos Cortes even highlights: “Don’t think that you will be able to create, from one day to the next, on the Tagus South Bank, what the North region took years to achieve with dialogue, which were the Metropolitan emergencies”. For Carlos Cortes, “it is necessary to include everyone in these decisions, particularly those who work in the units on the Setúbal Peninsula, to discuss what needs to be changed”.

Next week, the guardianship also has scheduled meetings with unions from other professional classes, namely with the Union of Senior Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians, on the 23rd, at 3:30 pm, the structure announces on its official page, explaining that this scheduling is also a response “to the letter sent by the union organizations, on the 1st of October”.

This structure also highlights that the Unions of the Career Negotiation Platform for Senior Technicians in the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Areas (TSDT) presented for discussion, within the scope of the ongoing negotiation process with the Government, “the valorization and dignification of our professions and resolution of the following issues: review of the salary table; regularization of retroactive pay differences due; reversal of unfairly created remuneration positions; accounting of fixed-term contracts; among others”.
