This Tuesday, April 7, the Prime Minister considered the President of the Republic’s interventions on the bad weather to be “very positive”, classifying them as “a constructive impulse” for greater speed in support and assuming that there is a difference between expectations and the immediate result.
With António José Seguro in the front row, Luís Montenegro spoke at the signing ceremony of a protocol between the Mission Structure for the reconstruction of the central region of the country and foundations, an initiative integrated into the agenda of the open Presidency of the head of State, which runs until Friday in the regions most affected by the bad weather in February.
“I would like to say, on this occasion, Mr. President, that we have recorded as very positive your interventions and interactions with people, communities, institutions, local authorities, in a constructive impulse so that all administrative bodies and all structures of our society can converge so that we can be faster in executing, acting and transforming into reality what is often in our intentions, in our interventions and even in new legal and institutional instruments”he stated.
There is this commitment on the part of the Government, said the Prime Minister, also thanking the President of the Republic for the “unsurpassable cooperation” in the faster handling of legislative procedures regarding bad weather.
Explaining that for people and companies to access support there are procedures that need to be followed, Montenegro assured that he is aware of the difference “between the expectation that is created and the result that is achieved” and that everything is being done to “reduce this difference”.
The Prime Minister also said he hopes to have “in the next few weeks” the final design of the PTRR – Portugal Transformation, Recovery and Resilience, after over 700 participants in the public consultation and contributions, among others, from the President of the Republic.
“(…) the PTRR, which is in the compilation phase, after having received more than 700 participations in the public consultation period, which followed the presentation of the general guidelines, which happened on February 20th, as you remember. Our expectation is that in the coming weeks we will have the final design”announced Luís Montenegro after his speech at the signing ceremony of a protocol between the Mission Structure for the reconstruction of the central region of the country and foundations, which took place in Tomar, headquarters of the open Presidency of António José Seguro.
With the head of state in the front row, the prime minister said that this final design will be the result of the analysis of the various contributions received, including from “Presidents of the Republic, all sovereign bodies, political parties, civic associations, local authorities, citizens, academia”.
“After all this wealth of civic participation has been gathered and analyzed, after the Government has also carried out its assessment and interacted, particularly with European institutions, with a view to safeguarding part of the financing of this program, everything is being done so that, very quickly, we have the final design of this transformation, recovery and resilience program”he added.
