A recent Moroccan official report revealed that the number of victims of human trafficking reached 269 people in 2024, explaining that 215 of them were exploited inside Morocco, while 54 victims were subjected to exploitation outside it.
This was stated in the annual report of the Supreme Council of the Judicial Authority, which was published in the latest issue of the Official Gazette of the Kingdom.

The report – which presents the outcome of the courts’ performance over a year of work – said that the number of people convicted by the Moroccan judiciary of the crime of human trafficking reached 120 people, 76 of whom were males and 44 were females.
Regarding the nationalities of the convicts, the report confirmed that 113 of the convicts held Moroccan nationality, while 7 people held other nationalities, which the report did not announce.
The data contained in the report confirmed that sexual exploitation of victims represented the largest proportion of the forms of exploitation for which convictions were made in 2024, as the number of cases of sexual exploitation reached 92 cases, followed by clandestine migration with 18 cases, and begging with 8 cases, while one case was recorded for each of forced labor, and exploitation to carry out criminal acts or involvement in armed conflicts.
The same data also indicated that the number of adult victims of human trafficking reached 175, which represents 65% of the total number of victims, while the number of minor victims reached 94, representing an estimated 35%.
The report recorded that females represent the group most vulnerable to human trafficking, as their percentage reached 64%, while the percentage of males reached 36%. The Council considered that women represent the group “the most vulnerable in the face of pressures, whether from a psychological, social, or economic perspective, and they are also often victims of sexual exploitation.”
Sexual exploitation represented the most widespread form of exploitation among victims, with an average of 154 victims, followed by displacement through deception and luring, with 91 victims, while the rest of the forms of exploitation were distributed between forced labor, with 8 victims, luring people, transporting them, and harboring them using fraud and exploiting need and fragility, and exploitation to carry out criminal acts, 10 victims, followed by begging, with 4. Victims, and forced labor with two victims.
