The vision behind the 2026 Mustang RTR comes from Vaughn Gittin Jr., who founded RTR in 2009 with the dream of making the Mustang an exciting car for new generations. After more than 15 years of experience in drift and motorsport competitions, Gittin Jr. managed to complete this project with Ford, fusing the “Ready to Rock” DNA of RTR with the reliability and prestige of the Mustang.

The 2026 Mustang RTR is built on the Mustang EcoBoost platform, recognized for its excellent 54/46 weight balance and great agility. It is equipped with a turbocharged EcoBoost engine that, coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission, offers 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque in its factory version. For those looking for even more power, Ford Performance Parts makes available a plug-and-play tune capable of raising power to 350 hp and 400 lb-ft, all without losing the vehicle’s original warranty.
Chassis upgrades include high-performance components taken from the Mustang Dark Horse, such as the rear subframe, anti-roll bars, and adjustable shock mounts that allow camber angle to be optimized for driving style. The driving experience is complemented by a special Track stability mode, designed to offer greater control during drifts and sporty maneuvers, in addition to a Drift/Track alignment available at Ford dealers. The six-piston front and four-rear Brembo brake system, along with the MagneRide suspension option, ensure safety and precision both on the track and on the road.
