“With Disney Adventure World, we’re not just opening a second, renovated gate at Disneyland Paris; we’re opening the doors to a new era. An era where our guests step straight into the heart of the stories they love,” said Natacha Rafalski, president of Disneyland.
The day before, the French president highlighted the importance of the park as a national economic asset, referring to it as “the main tourist destination in Europe” and describing it as “a true successful ecosystem”.
According to Disney data cited by the Associated Press agency, the resort now employs more than 20,000 people, supports 70,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs, and has recorded more than 445 million visits since 1992 — representing 6.1% of France’s national tourist revenue.
Interestingly, when it opened, it was ridiculed and dubbed “cultural Chernobyl”.
The new themed area recreates the imaginary village of Arendelle around a lagoonwith its wooden buildings with facades adorned with rose painta traditional Norwegian decorative art based on rose painting. At the center is Frozen Ever After, a boat ride with state-of-the-art animatronics and immersive projection effects set to the film’s soundtrack.
Inside the castle, visitors can meet Anna and Elsa, chat with an interactive baby troll named Mossywhich answers your questions, and attend a celebration at the lake called the Snow Flower Festival — with an original song.
