As part of this approach, the first chapter of an audiovisual project inspired by the national maritime imaginary was presented. The story follows the tugboat “Esperança” on a crossing marked by adverse conditions, in a clear metaphor of the resistance and determination associated with the Portuguese journey.. The outcome of this narrative will be revealed in a second film scheduled for June 2026, coinciding with the final phase of preparation for the international competition.
According to the federation, The objective is also to project Portugal to foreign audiences, transforming each game into an opportunity to showcase Portuguese culture, history and way of life. Thus, the message is no longer directed only at national fans and becomes a global invitation to get to know the country beyond football.
On a sporting level, the Portuguese team is now beginning a cycle of preparation games against demanding opponents. The first meeting is scheduled for the early hours of this Sunday against Mexico, at the reopening of the historic Azteca Stadium, followed by a second test against the United States, in Atlanta, on March 31, matches that form part of the preparation towards the 2026 World Cup.
