Nscale is involved in data center which will be built in Sines and has just placed the largest financing ever by a European company.
At stake are two billion dollars (1.73 billion euros, at current exchange rates) which the British technology company placed through a investment roundwhich evaluate the company in 14.6 billion dollars.
This round was led by Aker ASA and 8090 Industries, but the highlight among investors goes to Nvidiathe semiconductor chip manufacturer with the highest sales volume worldwide. Among the remaining participants are Nokia, Lenovo, Astra Capital Management, Citadel, Dell, Jane Street, Linden Advisors and Point72.
Founded in 2024, Nscale is a startup e has already reached the status of decisive in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem. This is because develops infrastructures and data centerslike this operates services cloud.
To fuel growth, it recently hired three new members to the board. These are the cases of Sheryl Sandberg, former COO (operations leader) of Meta, Nick Clegg, former deputy prime minister of the United Kingdom and head of Meta, and also Susan Decker, former president of Yahoo.
It is worth remembering that, among the various responsibilities that Nscale has on its agenda, is the installation of 12,600 next-generation chips from Nvidia no data center who will be born in Sines. The construction is in charge of Start Campus and the technological infrastructure is the result of a partnership between Nvidia and Microsoft, two of the largest in the world in technology and AI.
