Palestinian doctor Ghada Karmi said that the aid provided to Gaza will not be sufficient as long as Israel continues its attacks and aggression against the Strip.

This came during her speech to Anadolu Agency on the sidelines of the closing session of the symbolic Gaza Court in Istanbul.

This court is an independent international initiative founded by academics, intellectuals, human rights defenders, and representatives of civil organizations in the British capital, London, in November 2024, due to the international community’s complete failure to implement international law in the Gaza Strip.

Karmi emphasized that health care workers in Gaza are doing their best to serve patients, and that many Palestinians are losing their lives due to lack of resources.

She stressed that increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza alone will not be enough, adding that “there must be an immediate ceasefire. Israel’s aggression against Gaza must end.”

She recalled that Israel continued its genocide in Gaza for more than two years, and said: “Therefore, the damage to the mental health of citizens in Gaza, especially children, is something that I cannot even imagine.”

She expressed her gratitude to all countries that received and treated patients from Gaza, stressing that Turkey has a special role in this regard.

Since the agreement took effect, the government media office in Gaza has documented more than 80 Israeli violations as of Sunday evening, resulting in the death of 97 Palestinians and the injury of more than 230 others.

Since October 8, 2023, Israel has been waging a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, leaving 68,519 martyrs and 170,382 injured, most of them children and women, and causing destruction across 90% of the civilian infrastructure in the Strip.
