The Presidential elections enter the center of the political agenda. From what DN was able to determine, the PAN brings together the Political Commission this Tuesday to debate the presidential issue, but also the municipal result. THEthe DN, Inês de Sousa Real, spokesperson for the PAN, guaranteed that the party would take a position and that it would not give up “on a name that represents its ideology”, criticizing whoever came forward, a direct barb at the Bloco de Esquerda and PS: “We were in coalition with some of these parties in the Municipal Councils, but the choice did not come from any dialogue and consultation with the PAN.”

The CDS-PP meets the Executive and Political Committee on Wednesday at its national headquarters. Nuno Melo, president of the CDS-PP, but also Minister of Defense, was abroad and the debate, therefore, took a long time to take place. The municipal results and the maintenance of six municipalities for the centrists will also be a topic, even if the Presidential elections dominate.

Paulo Portas is the favorite, but he has no intention of moving forward and the party wants to distance itself from the PSD in the election. Indecision has led to other militants not moving forward. However, with Rui Moreira as Marques Mendes’ representative, several activists can declare support for the social democrat. The former president of the Porto City Council pleases centrists and, without his own candidacy, could occupy a preferred space that Gouveia e Melo lost.

This Tuesday, there will be a presentation in Lisbon of the book “António José Seguro – Um de Nós – Sonhar Portugal, Fazer Happen”, a biographical portrait, published by Casa das Letras, written by Rui Gomes, graduate in Social Communication, producer and professor in higher education of Journalism and Political Communication and member of the cabinet of the deputy minister and of State, Jorge Coelho, in the XIII Constitutional Government. After the PS’s announcement of supporting Seguro, it will also be an opportunity for the presidential candidate to speak about the party’s decision, which, as the DN had said, had no objections from the socialist Federations.
