The goal was to make digitalization tangible and tangible DigiDays on June 5th in Hagen. With over 40 exhibitors and 30 practice-oriented workshops, the specialist event offered an opportunity to find out first-hand about the latest digital technologies and trends and to get in touch with experts.
Our team was represented on the premises of the SIHK in Hagen that day with concentrated women and men power: Sarah Spieker, Fatma Mendoza, Anne von Moers, Elena Keuchel, Julia Nießner, Lukas Schröder, Sabrina Glücks, Marcel Spill, Dr. Oliver Fix and Martina Thomas.
Opportunities and potential of AI technologies in the business environment
The highlight at our stand was the AI demonstrator developed by Marco Fries that recognizes hand gestures. The visitors were able to try out the demonstrator themselves with various hand gestures and talked to us about it. With our prototype we want to demonstrate that an AI can already run on comparatively low-performance hardware such as a Raspberry Pi. You can find the detailed article here.
Better understand AI and identify operational areas of application
In our fully booked workshop “AI in everyday work – understanding and applying AI,” participants from Julia Nießner and Lukas Schröder learned practically how AI can be trained and used using simple means. Our two speakers were able to clearly show that AI is actually not magic. The participants were able to see this for themselves. Immersed in their laptops, they had the opportunity to gain their first experiences with training an AI using training data sets.

For the KI NRW Future Center, SIHK Hagen’s DigiDay was a good opportunity to introduce itself to visitors from the region and get in touch with the other exhibitors.
