The exchange of Palestinian and Israeli hostages is good news, however, that does not mean that it will be a fruitful peace.
To begin, it is necessary to evaluate the level of accumulated resentment. Many Hamas members have remained for years in Israeli prisons, in conditions that could be described as dubious at best. This situation only fuels the ideology of terrorists whose leitmotif Fundamental is revenge.
It will also be necessary to see if it really is a real peace for Netanyahu or if he will look for any excuse to break it. Of course, it now has the supervision of Donald Trump, who is its most important auditor.
But also, the situation in the Middle East is not only the peace of Palestine. No, there are many points to solve. One is Israel’s situation with terrorism that permanently threatens it. I am referring to Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Houthis, Al-Qaeda or the martyrs of Al-Assad. Those are some of the names of the terrorist factions whose main objective is Israel and its disappearance; although there is more.
On the other hand, there is an enemy to defeat, not only on the part of Israel but also on the part of many countries of Islam. I am referring to Iran and its idea of achieving the nuclear bomb. The Gaza war and recent events have made Iran go almost unnoticed. However, that does not mean that they do not continue behind their goal. For this reason, both the United States and much of the planet seek to neutralize Persian aspirations.
Israel has many open fronts, perhaps too many. Netanyahu’s warmongering policy has not helped. International public opinion has shifted to the weakest. However, it does not mean that the Israeli people are like their prime minister. Not at all. We must seek peace and hope, but for that we must seek justice and surrender. It’s the only way to fix things.
