Pope Leo XIV declared this Tuesday that he hopes that the president of the United States, Donald Trump, is looking for a way out of the war in the Middle Eastwhile calling for dialogue.
“I was told that President Trump recently declared that he would like to end the war, let’s hope he is looking for a way out, let’s hope he is looking for a way to reduce the violence, the bombings”The American pontiff told reporters as he left his residence in Castel Gandolfo, on the outskirts of Rome, for the Vatican.

This, said Pope Leo “It would be a significant contribution to removing the hatred that is being created and constantly increasing in the Middle East and elsewhere.”
“I would certainly continue to make this call to all the leaders of the world to say: ‘Come back to the table of dialogue, let’s find solutions to the problems…'”said the 70-year-old pontiff, who will celebrate his first Easter as leader of the Catholic Church.
With the celebration approaching, “should be the holiest and most sacred time of the entire year“said Leo XIV.
“It is a time of peace, a time of deep reflection, but, as we all know, once again in the world, in many places we are seeing so much suffering, so many deaths, even of innocent children”he stated.
“We continually call for peace, but, unfortunately, many people want to promote hatred, violence and war.”
