Porto’s IPO does not pay subsidies given by the State to teams that carry out organ harvesting and transplants

Porto’s IPO carries out around 150 transplants per year.

The complaint comes from the Northern Doctors’ Union and has already been sent to the Health Inspectorate, Executive Board and guardianship to be investigated. The president of the structure, Joana Bordalo e Sá, tells DN that such funds have never been paid to the teams since 2001 and that they have already asked the administration for clarification. The union demands, at a minimum, payment for the last five years, R$2.4 million per year. IPO also says that it complied with the law, investing the funds in the service.
