The 276 votes that separated PSD-CDS-PP-PPM and PS-PAN in Braga lead the socialists to move forward with a request for the election results to be counted.
“The PS remains open to activate all legal mechanisms at its disposal to assess, in greater detail and detail, the possible existence of errors, omissions and inconsistencies”states in a note sent to the Press.
The candidacy mentions “usual diligence whenever the distance between the two applications justifies a detailed review” of the results. Basically, he admits that the procedure is normative.
As such, João Rodrigues, elected with over 0.26%, tells DN that he is “calm” and highlights that the situation is “recurrent” in several courts when the margins are short.
PS-Braga, making it clear that it is a specific message from the candidate, says “it recognizes the electoral result, in strict and absolute respect for democracy and the will expressed at the polls”, but admits that “during the counting process will decide whether or not to present, to the competent judge, formal requests for a recount of electoral tables.”
João Rodrigues, in conversation with DN, mentions that he is already thinking about governing Braga, which does not appear to be easy. There are three mandates for the PSD, three for the PS and three for the independent Ricardo Silva. One mandate remains for Rui Rocha, from IL, and Chega. “I may not negotiate any government situation. I can do it case by case, we may give up one thing or another, but the program will be ours”, guarantees DN João Rodrigues, who knows he is inferior in the parish councils (17 for the PS, 12 for the PSD). Neither negotiation with Chega or IL would be worth superiority.
“At this moment, it is not on the table to hand over councils”, he guarantees, stressing the need to “sit down” with the council to define the best paths.
