André Leitão is pragmatic: “The fact that we make a series for a platform that is accessible all over the world and that we were lucky enough for the series to be successful, automatically implies that many more people have access to our work and approach us as artists, as actors. There are opportunities, doors open, because there are literally many more people seeing our work”emphasizes.
In this third season, these four protagonists, Helena Caldeira, José Condessa, Rodrigo Tomás and André Leitão are once again accompanied by Maria João Bastos, Salvador Martinha, Afonso Pimentel, Kelly Bailey and Victória Guerra. And some of them also joined the cast. new faces, such as Joaquim de Almeida, Ângelo Rodrigues and Inês Castel-Branco.
Ângelo Rodrigues finds it interesting that the series is based on a real story and that, when he saw the television report on the subject, he saw its potential and even talked to a colleague about the possibility of making a documentary about it. “But not on the fictional side, more to find out what that drug could have done to some actors. In other words, to see how certain families, who are known to have had contact with the drug, are doing after all this time.”
The documentary would never be made, but “then everything worked out and I came to be part of the universe. Portugal has good stories to tell, And it’s a good thing that this series had worldwide repercussions, which is to put the spotlight a little on Portugal”, says the actor to DN.
