Iran’s military elite, the Revolutionary Guards, threatened to attack American universities located in the Middle East, after learning that bombings by the United States and Israel destroyed two universities in Iran.
The United States has numerous higher education schools with campuses in Persian Gulf countries such as Texas A&M University in Qatar or New York University in the United Arab Emirates.

“If the US government wants these universities in the region not to suffer reprisals (…), it must condemn the bombing of the universities in an official statement before Monday, March 30 at noon,” the Guardians declared in a statement carried by Iranian media.
The Revolutionary Guards, the ideological army of the Islamic republic, advised employees, professors and students of universities that could be threatened to move one kilometer away from the campuses.

Explosions at the University of Science and Technology
On Friday night and early Saturday, a series of explosions shook Tehran and hit the University of Science and Technology northeast of the city, damaging buildings.
According to Iranian media, there were no victims, but there was damage to the university complex buildings.
