Spanish striker Samu could miss FC Porto for the rest of the season, due to a sprain in his right knee suffered in the 1-1 draw with Sporting, on Monday, for the I Football League, the dragons announced this Tuesday, February 10th.
The 21-year-old Spanish international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and was replaced by Deniz Gül at half-time in the classic that ended in a 1-1 draw at Estádio do Dragão, in Porto.
This season, Samu scored 20 goals in 32 games for the blue and whites, 13 of which were scored in the 20 league matches in which he played.
The Porto squad is once again lacking the position of striker, given the possibility of not having the player available for a long period, similar to what happens with the Dutch Luuk de Jong, now counting on reinforcement Terem Moffi to compete with Deniz Gül for the position.
The blue and whites also clarified that the forward will be re-evaluated by the club’s health department in the “next few days”.
In addition to Samu, Jakub Kiwior and Martim Fernandes were also substituted during the match for physical reasons and are listed in the Porto medical report.
