Authorities resumed this Friday, April 3, the search for the young man who disappeared at sea, during Wednesday afternoon, on Dragão Vermelho beach, in Costa da Caparicain Almada, district of Setúbal, informed the National Maritime Authority (AMN).
In a statement, AMN indicated that search operations for the 17-year-old boy, coordinated by the Port Captain and Local Commander of the Lisbon Maritime Police, “were resumed this morning”, mobilizing various means.
“Crews from the Cascais Lifeguard Station, members of the Local Command of the Lisbon Maritime Police, the “SeaWatch” project and the Cacilhas Volunteer Firefighters are committed”, he explained.
The AMN reported that “the Forensic Diving and Underwater Operations Group of the Maritime Police carried out diving operations at 8:00 am”, highlighting that, in these maneuvers, nothing was detected.
“According to what was possible to ascertain, the young man was with his friends playing football, having entered the sea and ended up disappearing”he added.
The young man disappeared at sea, on Wednesday afternoon, on Dragão Vermelho beach, on Costa da Caparica, in the municipality of Almada.
According to AMN, the alert was received at 4:55 pm, through lifeguards from the Frente Urbana Lifeguard Association, and searches were immediately initiated coordinated by the Port Captain and local commander of the Lisbon Maritime Police.
