Richard Millán Vázquez, mayor of ElotaSinaloa, it turned out attacked by bullets this Wednesday afternoon when I returned from Culiacan towards his municipality, confirmed the Ministry of Public Security of Sinaloa.
The first reports indicate that the attack occurred around 6:00 p.m. on the north-south lane of the Culiacán-Mazatlán highway, when an armed group traveling aboard a sedan-type vehicle, blue in color and an older model, opened fire in order to stop the unit in which the municipal president and his companions were traveling.

Millán Vázquez, belonging to the Citizen Movement party, was traveling in an armored vehicle, which allowed him to evade the attack and travel on his own to the municipal seat of Elota. The mayor and the people traveling with him were unharmed.
After the attack, corporations from the three levels of Government deployed an extensive operation in the area to locate those responsible.

The mayor was returning from Culiacán to Elota, after holding a meeting with the general secretary of the Government of Sinaloa, Feliciano Castro Meléndrez.
