Sporting beats Alverca 4-1 and resumes second place in the I Liga

Sporting returned this Sunday (March 22) to second place in the I Football League, equal on points with Benfica, but with one game in hand, by winning 4-1 at Alverca, in the 27th round of the competition.

In Alverca, Pedro Gonçalves, ‘scored twice’ in the 22nd and 86th minutes, Luis Suárez (50), who reinforced the lead of the scorers, with 24 goals, and Geny Catamo (68), scored the ‘lions’ goals, with Marezi ‘winning’ for Alverca, in the 83rd.

Sporting, which has played one game less, from the 26th round with Tondela, remains in second place, with 65 points, equal on points with Benfica, third, four behind the leader, FC Porto, who still visits Sporting de Braga today.
