Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse defensive end DeAngelo Thompson has entered the transfer window, his agent said ESPN.
Thompson appeared in four games for the Orange as a true freshman in 2025.
Before joining Syracuse, Thompson had 10 sacks in six games as a senior at Miami Northwestern High School. He was a three-star recruit who flipped his commitment to Syracuse from Atlanta, Florida.
Thompson joins fellow defensive lineman and Miami Northwestern player Eric Thomas on the transfer window.
They leave Central New York ahead of a season that will feature four Miami Northwestern players on the roster, highlighted by five-star recruit wide receiver Calvin Russell.
Syracuse remains thin defensively for 2026. The Orange has just four scholarship players at the start of the spring semester.
Jamie Tremble had the most sacks of any returning player in 2025 with just three. As a team, Syracuse totaled just 20 sacks.
However, Syracuse added Keyshawn Johnson from Tennessee-Martin to the transfer portal. Johnson had 13.5 sacks for the Skyhawks.
Syracuse still has time to update its roster. Players have until Friday to enter the transfer portal and can apply to the program at any time.
