A 40-year-old woman, who gave up her career to take care of her family, sees her world fall apart when her husband reveals that he has another woman. This is the starting point of the piece The Deranged Womanwhich premieres next week in Lisbon, voiced by Brazilian Tati Pasquali.
The actress will “break the fourth wall” and also share fragments of his own experience, which gives the piece even more strength. The monologue is inspired by texts by philosopher and writer Simone de Beauvoir.
According to the synopsis, many women will be able to identify with the theme. “On a fine line between fiction and reality, existentialism and everyday life, the actress leads the audience in a delicate and honest dialogue about a topic that is transversal to many women: the feeling of loss of control over one’s existence, especially after motherhood.”
