The Syracuse Orchestra is moving Saturday night’s concert to the Landmark Theater


Syracuse, NY – The Syracuse Orchestra moved its Saturday night concert to the Landmark Theatre.

Judy Schmid, a spokeswoman for the orchestra, said the concert was moved due to a build-up of moisture in the Civic Center. She didn’t know what was causing the problem.

Existing tickets are still valid and concertgoers will be able to sit in the seats that most closely resemble those they originally reserved. Facebook posts by the orchestra.

The Insider’s Experience before the concert has been cancelled. Those who had Insider’s Experience tickets can exchange them for two $18 drink tickets.

Details regarding seating and parking were shared by email to all ticket holders, according to the post. Shuttles from Camillus, Liverpool and DeWitt will still be running to provide transportation to and from the concert.

The orchestra is set to perform Debussy’s “Pagodes,” followed by Principal Trombone Ben Dettelback’s performance of the video game-inspired trombone concerto. The show culminates with a performance of Brahms’ “Symphony No. 2which contains the famous tune “Brahms Lullaby”.

There will be a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m., then the show will begin at 7:30 p.m.
