The vote will take place this Friday April 3 and will deal with a draft resolution presented by Bahrain to authorize the use of “defensive” force to protect ships in the Strait of Hormuz from Iranian attacks.
Iran has completely blocked the key sea route, threatening fuel supplies and disrupting the global economy, in retaliation for the US and Israeli attacks that sparked the war in Middle Eastwhich already lasts a month.

‘Go find your own oil’ in Strait of Hormuz: Trump
The president Donald Trump on Wednesday called on countries suffering from fuel shortages to “go find your own oil” in the Strait of Hormuz, adding that American forces would not help them.
A sixth and final draft, to which the AFPauthorizes Member States—either unilaterally or as “voluntary multinational naval associations”—to use “all defensive means necessary and appropriate to the circumstances.”
It applies to the strait and adjacent waters to “ensure transit passage and deter attempts to close, obstruct or otherwise interfere with international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.”

The measure would have a minimum duration of six months.
The draft resolution has been drawn up with the aim of garnering the support of several countries that have been sceptical, including Russia, China y France.
The revised wording no longer explicitly invokes the Chapter 7 of the Charter of the United Nationswhich allows the Security Council to authorize the use of armed force to restore peace.
