“Now we’re going to San Francisco,” he told Fox News.

“The difference is that I think they want us in San Francisco. San Francisco was really one of the great cities in the world. And 15 years ago, everything went wrong.”he added.

Trump has repeatedly exaggerated the extent of crime in American cities to justify deployments, which have been largely opposed by local Democratic leaders.

Late last month, he suggested that American cities be used as “training grounds” for military forces.

The first deployment in Los Angeles, in June, It came after protests over widespread immigration raids that critics said appeared to primarily target people because of their race or the language they spoke.

That deployment was harshly criticized by the Democratic governor of California, Gavin Newsom, a probable presidential candidate in 2027.

San Francisco occupies a special place in the Republican worldview.

The city, with documented problems with homelessness and drug addiction, frequently appears on right-wing cable channels as an example of what they see as the demise of America’s urban centers under the control of the Democratic Party.
