Two people were arrested this Friday, March 27, on suspicion of committing the crime of kidnapping followed by robbery and extortion, against a woman residing in the city of Covilhã.
“It all happened because the victim provided four bank accounts to the suspects, in order to dissipate the money resulting from the commission of drug trafficking crimes and computer fraud, that is, to launder these amounts”, explains a note sent by the Judiciary Police to the newsrooms.
At one point, the victim, “in connivance with the suspects”, took possession of a huge amount of money that he did not return, having been kidnapped and subsequently robbed of electronic equipment he had at home.
One arrest was made in compliance with an arrest warrant and the other in flagrante delicto. At the same time, a home search was carried out, and a relevant collection of evidence was collected.
The detainees will be present at the Fundão Court in order to be subjected to the first judicial interrogation and application of coercive measures.
