VASP – Distribution and Logistics, SA admitted this Friday (March 20) to have sent “incomplete financial information” to the Office of the Minister of the Presidency. According to the company, this data was sent by an employee and is “likely to have misled the respective team”, according to a statement.
Given the situation, the newspaper and magazine distributor reported having already “transmitted and explained what happened to that Office”, seeking to correct any misunderstanding generated by the internal failure.
In the document sent to newsrooms, VASP “regrets what happened and apologizes for the resulting consequences”. The company emphasizes the importance that the relationship with the Ministry of the Presidency, “and specifically with the minister of the Presidency”, remains guided by “principles of cooperation and institutional respect”. The distributor justifies this need for institutional stability by highlighting its public role, “taking into account the existence of a sustainable press distribution network that guarantees everyone the right of access to information”.
VASP is currently in negotiations with the Government regarding support mechanisms for the distribution of newspapers and magazines within the country.
