By replacing Luís Pinto, who guided the Victorians for nine months, a period marked by the victory of the League Cup, on January 10, the 32-year-old coach ascends to the top of the Victorian hierarchy, 10 years after having joined Afonsinhos, the club’s under-7 football school.

After going through various levels of Guimarães’ youth teams, Gil Lameiras took over the B team in 2024/25, a season in which he achieved promotion from the Portuguese Championship to League 3, before, in the current season, winning Series A in the third tier of Portuguese football and guiding Vitória to the provisional leadership of the League 3 champion qualification phase.
