In a fiery press conference before facing Barcelona and Girona in the Spanish League, the angry and upset German coach Hansi Flick broke his silence to respond strongly to the rumors that he was under pressure from the club management to include Lamine Jamal against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, despite his delayed return from participating with his country’s national team.
Flake: This is nonsense
The German coach explained, “The story about Lamine being late against Paris Saint-Germain is complete nonsense! No one forced me to play him, and nothing of the kind happened and all those rumors do not exist.”

The former coach of Bayern Munich and the German national team added, “I would like to know where these rumors come from. They are bad, and this is not the case. Neither Deco nor anyone at the club asked me for anything, and my relationship with all the administrators at the club is excellent. I believe in my work, and this is a rumor, and whoever said this is a liar.”
Hansi Flick stressed that his technical decisions are completely independent, and that he is the one who determines the players’ participation according to standards of work, discipline, and physical readiness, and not according to pressure or external conversations.
Lamin Jamal and Rafinha Rashford
He stressed, “Lamine Jamal is very professional. He works hard every day. His vacation days belong to him alone, and I do not interfere in his private life. What is important to me is that when he is here, he gives everything he has.”
Flick’s statements came to completely close the door on the wave of rumors claiming that Flick was “forced” by the administration to include Lamine Gamal and not punish him – as happened with Rafinha and Rashford – for falling behind on the team.
Flick punished the Brazilian star Rafinha and did not start him in La Liga and put him on the bench because he was 5 minutes late to the meeting that preceded training, and the German coach did the same with the English star Marcus Rashford because he was only two minutes late to the meeting.
