“We are well, firm, serene and in constant prayer,” Maduro wrote on the eve of Holy Week, a date of great spiritual importance in his predominantly Catholic country.

It is known that Maduro is isolated in a cell without access to the internet or newspapers, he only has access to the prison yard for one hour a day; However, a person close to the former president told the AFP agency that they allow him to speak on the phone with his family and lawyers for a maximum of 15 minutes.
It is not yet clear whether Maduro dictated the message to his team or approved its content, but it ends with his and his wife’s signature.
