The National Meteorological Service (SMN), official climate source of the Government of Mexico, announced the effects that will occur in some regions of the country this Thursday, October 17.
The entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean favored by a low pressure area with a probability of cyclonic development south of the coast of Oaxaca, will generate intense occasional rains in Chiapas and Oaxaca, as well as very heavy rains in Guerreroin addition to high waves on the coasts of said states.

Cold front no. 7 will extend over the border region of northwest and northern Mexicoin interaction with a trough in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere and the subtropical jet stream, will cause drop in temperature and strong gusts of wind in these regions; as well as heavy rains in Chihuahua and Coahuila.
A cyclonic circulation at altitude in northeastern Mexico will cause rains and intervals of showers in the aforementioned region. It is expected that, at the end of the day, this cyclonic circulation will move towards the south of the United States and will stop affecting Mexico.

Low pressure channels over the interior of the country, the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea and atmospheric instability will cause showers and heavy rains in the west, center, east of the Mexican Republic, and the Yucatan Peninsula.

Very heavy rains with intense occasional events (75 to 150 mm): | Chiapas (Sierra and Soconusco regions) and Oaxaca (Sierra Sur, Costa and Isthmus regions). |
Heavy rains with very strong spots (50 to 75 mm): | Nayarit (coast), Jalisco (coast), Guerrero (east and southeast), Yucatán (northeast) and Quintana Roo (north). |
Showers with occasional heavy rains (25 to 50 mm): | Chihuahua (south and northeast), Coahuila (northwest), Durango (west), Sinaloa (south), Colima (coast), Michoacán (coast), Veracruz (Papaloapan, Los Tuxtlas and Olmeca regions), Tabasco (west) and Campeche (south). |
Shower intervals (5 to 25 mm): | Nuevo León (center and south), Tamaulipas (south), State of Mexico (southwest), Morelos (north) and Puebla (east). |
Isolated rain (0.1 to 5 mm): | Baja California Sur, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Mexico City and Tlaxcala. |
