The presiding judge of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF), Monica Aralí Soto Fragosoassured that “Without parity, democracy is not complete,” during the presentation of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States with a Violet Look.
The event took place at the Teatro de la República, in the city of Queretarowithin the framework of the 72nd anniversary of the recognition of women’s vote in Mexico, where the magistrate maintained that “it cannot go unnoticed that today we live in a parity democracywho also represents our supreme leader of the country, the first woman president of the United Mexican States, who represents the progress we have had as citizens.”

Likewise, he pointed out that the TEPJF will continue to work for the political-electoral rights of women and to make possible, through sentences, their political participation; In addition to sanctioning behaviors that violate the gender equality in public life.
Regarding the content of the special edition of the Constitution with Mirada Violeta, Mónica Soto highlighted that it is transcendental because “it makes visible the importance of the human rights of women in the Magna Carta”, specifically, the central role of substantive equality, non-discrimination, parity and the right to a life free of violence.
Accompanied by the judge of the Superior Court Claudia Valle Aguilasocho and the magistrate Gilberto Batiz Garciaas well as the presiding judge of the Judicial Disciplinary Court (TDJ), Celia Maya Garcíaand the minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Yasmín Esquivel Mossa remembered the legacy of Josefa Ortiz Giron y Hermila Galindo Acostaamong other women, who promoted the defense of political rights in the country.
The presiding judge also highlighted the significant progress in the recognition of the political-electoral rights of women and said that in the world there is no other Constitution that has this substance in matters of parity democracy.
Mónica Aralí was also accompanied by the president of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Guadalupe Taddei Zavalto; of the state governor, Mauricio González was; the mayor of the city, Felipe Macías Olveraand the president of the entity’s Electoral Institute, Grisel Muñiz Rodríguez.

Mauricio Kuri, governor of Querétaro, considered that the anniversary of the recognition of women’s political rights “is a call to action that summons us to recognize and promote the fundamental role of women as pillars of our public, democratic and institutional life; pillars of economic development and social development of our state and our country.”
Likewise, he stated that “the women’s political participation in Querétaro and in Mexico it has been the result of their own efforts, their merits, their collective organization, their resilience and their social struggle over many generations.”
