Woman and ex-wife of former French police officer found dead in Portugal

Two women, companion and ex-partner of a former French police officer, were found dead this Wednesday, March 25, in Portugal, according to the report. The World.

The 42-year-old man is suspected of kidnapping his ex-wife and their 12-year-old son, whose custody he had lost, having been arrested by the National Republican Guard (GNR) on Tuesday night in the town of Mêda, in the Guarda district, for the crimes of forgery of documents and illegal possession of a weapon.

Cédric Prizzon had been missing since Friday and was wanted in France as part of an investigation into kidnapping and kidnapping “of several people”.

According to the Montpellier prosecutor, Thierry Lescouarc’h, the suspect was intercepted by Portuguese authorities in the company of two children (one from his ex-wife who he allegedly kidnapped and the other from a previous relationship), who were located “safe and sound”.

Prizzon’s ex-partner and their son, Élio, disappeared from Saint-Grat, in the commune of Vailhourles, last Friday morning. Shortly afterwards, the man’s current partner and the couple’s baby daughter were also reported missing. The disappearances led French police to issue an international arrest warrant and consider the possibility of fleeing abroad.

Prizzon has a legal record related to custody of his eldest son, having lost parental rights after taking the child to Spain, without the mother’s authorization, in 2021.

Subsequently, he led episodes of hunger strikes in front of the Court of Rodez and demonstrations in the municipality of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, denouncing the loss of custody of his son. On social media, he published videos stating that his son was “in danger” from his mother and criticizing the “corrupt justice system”, and even threatened his ex-partner.
