Youth Unemployment Rate Falls to 18.2% in January, Lowest Since 2023

To charge of unemployment stood at 5.6% in January. At issue is maintenance in relation to December 2025, which coincided with the lowest numbers in almost three years with regard to the youth unemployment.

According to INE’s provisional estimates, released this Tuesday, March 3rd, the youth unemployment rate stood at 18.2% in January. At issue is a decline of 0.4 percentage points (pp) in relation to the previous month, for the peso lowest since April 2023in that indicator.

Compared to the month of December, there is declines in the active population (decrease of 0.2%, 13.4 thousand fewer people), in the employed population (0.3%, 14.4 thousand) and in the inactive population (0,3%, 7,9 mil).

In year-on-year terms, unemployment fell 0.7 pp in Januaryreveal the data (6.3% in January 2025).
