TIJUANA.- The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) was attacked with explosivesyesterday Wednesday afternoon in Playas de Tijuana, which resulted in several damaged units.
The FGE confirmed that the events occurred around 7 p.m. and that there were no injuries after the attack.
“After carrying out an inspection in the area, what could be traces of explosive devices were found, which in turn caused some material damage to the institution’s property, four private vehicles and two official vehicles,” reads an information sheet from the agency.
After the attack, they coordinated an operation around the perimeter where the events occurred, placing surveillance at the entry and exit points.
The explosive attack occurred just one day after an agent of the corporation received posthumous honors at the FGE headquarters, after he was murdered in front of his home.

The United States Consulate in Tijuana issued a publication on its official social media page in which it launched an alert. AND urged American citizens who live in Tijuana do not approach the beach area -where the attack occurred-.

“We have received confirmation of a report of an attack on offices belonging to the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Baja California in the Playas de Tijuana area. Initial reports indicate that the attack included explosives with multiple explosions reported.”
Among the recommendations that the consulate issued asked citizens of their country who are in the city to avoid the area around any continued police presence. As well as monitor local media for updates and more.
This new attack adds to a series of recent attacks against the institution. Just a couple of weeks ago, official vehicles were set on fire in the same facilities and in another headquarters of the Prosecutor’s Office. There are already people arrested for these events.
