PROGRESS.— During the afternoon of Wednesday, the National Emergency Commission, Progreso headquarters, carried out an activity for the fundraising for victims due to the floods in the state of Veracruz.
The dynamic consisted of a house-to-house tour along 37th Street in the western area, from the so-called blade—about 150 meters from La Caleta—to the park of the Vicente Guerrero neighborhood.
On their tour, the staff of this group invited neighbors to contribute whatever was within their reach for the benefit of the victims.
Although they received several refusals, there was no shortage of those who in good faith reached out to them, giving them something from the pantry.
According to what was reported by José Armando Ble Alcázar, commander of the group, this is the second time they have carried out the activity, the first being in 2016, when Haiti was affected by the Hurricane Matthew.
On this occasion, the provisions they gathered will take them to the DIF collection center, which is located in the from the Hundred behind the park Vicente Guerrero.
As this organization works based on the volunteerism of its members, it is expected that next Saturday they will organize another day like this at a time and place to be confirmed, so they asked citizens to be attentive to their social networks.
