The best entertainment plaza in the Southeast will vibrate on November 8 with the arrival of the Corona Capital Sessions, an extension of the famous music festival in Mexico City that celebrates 15 years along with the centenary of the Corona beer brand.
This event will be possible due to the collaboration between Ocesa and Corona Capital, and will tour, in addition to Mérida, two other cities: Guadalajara and Monterrey.
The announcement was made yesterday by Armando Calvillo, marketing director of Ocesa and Corona Capital, at a press conference held in a bar in the center of this city.
During the presentation, details were announced about dates, times and artists that will make up this long-awaited edition.
“The Sessions concept seeks to extend the festival experience to new places and bring international music closer to more audiences,” highlighted the director.
Calvillo confirmed that Mérida will have the main date of the tour, as it will be held on Saturday, which anticipates a full house at the “Carlos Iturralde Rivero” stadium, venue of the concert. Around 20 thousand people are expected to attend, in a musical day that will start at 4 in the afternoon.
Keane, Phoenix and Passion Pit, three iconic indie and alternative pop groups, will perform on the Yucatecan stage. Keane’s Brits promise to revive classics like “Somewhere Only We Know” and “Everybody’s Changing.”
The French band Phoenix will ignite the audience with songs like “1901” and “Lisztomania”. For his part, Michael Angelakos will bring back the electronic spirit of Passion Pit with “Sleepyhead” and “Little Secrets”. Each band will offer their complete show.
Since 2010, Corona Capital has been consolidated as the most important international music festival in Mexico.
In addition to its commitment to sustainability, it is ISO 20121 certified and promotes inclusion through services for people with disabilities. By 2025, its main edition in Mexico City will feature the presence of Foo Fighters, Chappell Roan and Linkin Park as stars.
