Trump dismissed the nationwide “No Kings” demonstrations against him as a “joke.” He also rejected suggestions that he is acting like a monarch. “I think it’s a joke,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One in Washington DC while returning from Florida.
Trump to investigate “No Kings” protests
Donald Trump said his administration is probing whether the billionaire philanthropist George Soros “and other radical left lunatics” helped to fund the “No Kings” protests on Saturday, reported NewsWeek. “I guess (the protest) was paid for by Soros and other radical left lunatics,” Trump told reporters on board Air Force One as he traveled back to Washington, D.C., from Florida on Sunday night. “It looks like it was, we’re checking it out.”

Through his foundations, George Soros has provided substantial funding to progressive causes globally, including in the U.S., making him a prominent target of conservative criticism. Meanwhile, Trump recently labeled the far-left Antifa movement as a terrorist organization.
“I think it’s a joke,” Trump said of the “No Kings” protests on board Air Force One on Sunday night. “I looked at the people, they’re not representative of this country. And I looked at all the brand new signs paid—I guess it was paid for by Soros and other radical left lunatics. It looks like it was, we’re checking it out.”
Trump dismissed the protests as “very small, very ineffective, and the people were whacked out.” He added: “And by the way, I’m not a king. I’m not a king. I work my ass off to make our country great. That’s all it is. I’m not a king at all.” On the other hand, the “No Kings” campaign said the protests were held to “defend democratic norms and reject authoritarianism.”

Did George Soros fund anti-Trump protests?
Soros, a hedge fund titan and his $32billion Open Society Foundations (OSF) have poured millions into left-wing causes. The OSF is now run by his son Alex, 39, who is married to former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
According to Fox News, George Soros’ foundations funded the “No Kings” protests that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and tens of thousands of protesters participated in on Saturday. Soros, a billionaire investor and notorious Democratic Party donor, is founder of the Open Society Foundations.
In 2023, the foundation, through the Open Society Action Fund, issued a two-year grant of $3 million to the Indivisible organization. The grant was “to support the grantee’s social welfare activities,” according to the Open Society Foundation’s website.

‘No Kings’ protests in US
On Saturday, the “No Kings” rallies swept across all 50 states as a grassroots movement protesting what participants see as a growing erosion of democratic institutions and an overreach of executive power.
Organizers reported that over seven million Americans joined events in major cities—including New York, Washington, Chicago, and Los Angeles—as well as in smaller towns nationwide. Demonstrators waved signs and chanted slogans like “This is what democracy looks like” and “No hate, no fear — immigrants are welcome here.”
Earlier, Trump responded online with a series of AI-generated images and videos, including one showing him as a fighter-jet pilot and another depicting him as a king standing outside the White House.
