Speaking ahead of the Union Budget 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India has entered a new phase of accelerated reforms as Parliament passed the budget session. Modi called the budget the first of a new economic phase and linked it to the long-term goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. He said Indian manufacturers would gain access to expanded global markets, including the European Union, and urged the industry to focus on quality and competitiveness.
