The National Coordinator of Education Workers carried out blockades in several entities in the country with the demand that the Government of President Sheinbaum resume negotiations with the teachers and the ISSSTE Law of 2007 be repealed.
Mexico City, October 17 (However).- Teachers y maestros assigned to the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNT), today they carried out a series of road blocks in Chiapas, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Michoacán with the intention of demanding the reinstatement of the negotiation table with the President Claudia Sheinbaum.
In Chiapas, teachers of section 7 of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE), attached to the CNTblocked the western and eastern entrances and exits of the capital in the morning, Tuxtla Gutierrez. Another of the blocked points is located at kilometer 46 of the toll road that connects San Cristobal de las Casas with the state capital.
Protesters maintain road blockades in La Pochota and La Angostura, in the municipality of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, where only ambulances are allowed to pass.

Isael González Vázquez, leader of this teaching section, said that “it is urgent to resume the table between the president and the Single National Negotiation Commission (CNUN) of the CNTE; there are the unresolved demands.”
Ceteg blockades in Guerrero
For its part, the State Coordinator of Education Workers in Guerrero (Ceteg) in the Acapulco region blocked one direction of Costera Miguel Alemán Avenue, in the Golden Zone of Acapulco. Right here, the protesters took over the ISSSTE state delegation.
The protests spread to municipalities such as Chilpancingo, Iguala, Taxco and Zihuatanejo.
In Chilpancingo, the teachers marched in the north-south lane of the Cuernavaca-Acapulco Highway towards the point known as “El Parador del Marqués” to close this road. “We want the President to keep her word that there will be a negotiation with her,” said Elvira Veleces Morales, representative of Ceteg.

Blockades in Oaxaca
Section 22 of Oaxaca blocked six highway points that have left the Isthmus of Tehuantepec partially cut off. The blockades were installed in the municipalities of Juchitán, Tehuantepec, Ciudad Ixtepec, Salina Cruz, Matías Romero and Zanatepec.
The Juchitán road closure was installed at the point known as IMECA, on the Transistmica highway. With this action, the teachers prevented the passage of all types of vehicles towards Tehuantepec.
In Ciudad Ixtepec, education workers gathered at the toll booth on Highway 185 D, La Ventosa-Salina Cruz, and prevented the flow of vehicles towards Tehuantepec and Salina Cruz.
In the northern area of the Isthmus, the teachers blocked the Transístmica Highway 185, near the community of Pozo de Agua, and hindered vehicular passage towards the state of Veracruz and towards Tuxtepec.
The teachers carried out various road blocks, including at the intersection of the Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán International Airport, this on federal highway 175 Oaxaca-Puerto Escondido, where they completely closed circulation.
Likewise, they took the Storage and Dispatch Terminal (TAD) of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) located in the municipality of Santa María El Tule, they also took various toll booths such as the one on the highway to Mexico City in the Oaxaca-Cuacnopalan section where they allow free transit.


Pan-American Highway 190, near Zanatepec, was also subject to blockades and prevented passage to the Oaxacan communities of Tapanatepec and Chahuites, as well as to the coastal towns of Chiapas, such as Arriaga and Tonalá.
In the state of Michoacán, teachers demonstrated in the center of the capital, closing accesses and surrounding streets. They also prevented access to the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration and the local Congress. More than 2,500 schools remain closed.
