Green Party Statement


The National Executive Committee of the PVEM published a statement in which it condemned the murder of the Mayor and demanded that justice be applied to the full extent of the law for those responsible.

Mexico City, October 21 (However).- Miguel Bahena SolorzanoMunicipal President of Pisaflores, Hidalgoof the Green Environmental Party of Mexico (PVEM), was murdered last night in a armed attack when he arrived at his homein the town of The Stay.

According to the first reports, at 9:00 p.m. Solórzano was intercepted by a couple of hitmen who were waiting for him outside the building, who attacked him with several shots. The victim was left lying on the ground.

Neighbors who witnessed the crime reported that the subjects escaped from the scene aboard a motorcycle. The Mayor’s relatives left their home when they noticed the shots and found the politician already dead.

A video circulating on social networks shows the streets near the site where the execution occurred and in the recording you can hear the screams of a woman crying for her father.

Elements of the Pisaflores Municipal Police arrived at the site, after being alerted by the Mayor’s family. Later, members of Public Security of Hidalgo and Criminal Investigation of the Attorney General’s Office arrived, authorities who deployed a search operation to capture those responsible.

The National Executive Committee of the PVEM published a statement in which it condemned the murder of the Mayor, demanding justice and punishment for those responsible.

Green Party Statement
On Monday night, Miguel Bahena Solórzano, Municipal President of Pisaflores, Hidalgo, of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM), was murdered.

“From the National Executive Committee, we make a firm and urgent call to the corresponding authorities to carry out an immediate, exhaustive and transparent investigation, which leads to the clarification of the facts and the arrest and punishment of those responsible for this regrettable crime,” the party indicated.

“We cannot allow violence to continue undermining democracy and the security of communities,” concluded the PVEM.
