In this installment of RADICALES, the recent “changes” announced by the PAN and the messages that Ricardo Salinas Pliego continues to send were analyzed. It was agreed that the strengthening of the extreme right will depend not only on its media strategies, but also on the performance of the federal government and the ability of the left to maintain its closeness to citizens.
Mexico City, October 21 (However).– The right Mexico is going through a process of political and media realignment after the 2024 electoral defeat, with a National Action Party (PAN) that is increasingly leaning towards ultra-conservative positions and aligns itself with far-right figures such as the businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliegojournalists warned Daniela Barragán, Meme Yamel, Álvaro Delgado and Héctor Alejandro.
Although they agreed that the far right does not yet have a consolidated social presence, they warned that it is in full reorganization and could advance rapidly if the leftist governments They neglect political and social spaces.
Álvaro Delgado argued that in Mexico there is no longer a real distinction between the right and the extreme right, since both respond to the same interests.
“In Mexico there is no right and extreme right, it is the same right. It is the right and the extreme right, Ricardo Salinas Pliego. The identical right and extreme right are Claudio Televisa, TV Azteca, Excelsior, Reform, The Universal“, is a sector of journalism and opinionocracy at the service of PRIAN, which is the right and the extreme right.”
The journalist insisted that conservative forces are “regrouping” after the 2024 electoral failure.
“It is not true that the alliances are over, that is a falsehood. After the fiasco of 2024, all the political factors of the right and the extreme right are regrouping, which are exactly the same,” he added.
For her part, Daniela Barragán pointed out that the Mexican right has not yet achieved strong social penetration, although it retains economic and media power, which is why it cannot be considered dead.
“Persons like Eduardo Verástegui have still not managed to penetrate Mexican society and, on the other hand, parties like PRI and PAN are going through one of their worst moments,” he noted.
Barragán warned, however, that this weakening should not be a reason for confidence for the ruling party.
“Let’s not consider them dead. It is a sign for Morena and the left that they should not leave open or neglected spaces, because the right is lurking. We can have this data that right now they are not a real threat, but they do depend on the neglect of what is done wrong by the Government,” he stressed.

For her part, Meme Yamel warned about figures who, from within Morena, would be promoting political projects with right-wing ideology.
“Hugo Eric Flores is advancing with a political party, he is currently active in Morena, he is a federal representative for Morena, he has a very important responsibility in the instructional section and not only has he delayed the work he has to do to eliminate privileges, but from those ranks he is building a new political party with the President’s initials, but with the ideology of the right.”
The journalist criticized that Morena allows a right-wing figure to act freely and without any type of obstacle.
“Waters with these characters who, being within Morena, are moving forward with the construction of a political party that could turn, and everyone says that it is going to turn to the right.”
Meanwhile, Héctor Alejandro Quintanar highlighted that the renewal of the image of the PAN and the political activism of Salinas Pliego are signs that the extreme right seeks to reposition itself with new symbols and discourses.
“One of the features of the contemporary extreme right, which includes the Mexican one, is that the past era is used, history is no longer used to construct a discourse based on a conservative interpretation of that past, now what these characters do is outright lie, that is, there is no longer a similar interpretation of historical events but rather there is a distortion and exaltation of things that never happened.”
