The national leader of the PAN announced this Saturday the end of the party alliances that the blue and white party carried out in recent years with the PRI, MC parties and even with the now extinct PRD.

Mexico City, October 18 (However).- Jorge Romero Herreranational president of National Action Party (PAN)confirmed this morning that the party will not run in any election in an alliance “neither past, nor present, nor future.”
The PAN leader said, during the “relaunch” of the blue and white party, that they will not depend on these partisan agreements because their members requested it. “No acronym will come before the PAN,” he stated.
This after in 2021, at the request of Claudio X. González, PAN, PRD and PRI were for the first time in a formal electoral alliance during the midterm elections at the federal level, where they did poorly. In 2024 they repeated and did worse. The PRD lost the registration and PRI and PAN hit lows.
He also stated that National Action will return “to meritocracy”, so the selection of its election candidates will be done with primary elections for citizens and qualitative and quantitative surveys.

In a speech with references to “God”, “Diosito” and “the sisters and brothers”, Romero explained that the PAN will return to its values to defend the Homeland, the family and freedom.
The chains are over, he said, and never again in the PAN will anyone be able to decide if you can be a PAN member or not.
For this reason, he stated, the opening of the PAN will be total: from membership, thanks to a technological platform, so that it is immediate.
Now the people decide who will represent us, he added. “Meritocracy returns to the PAN and it’s over,” he said. This is returning to our origin and if anyone bothers you, no way, but this is the original path, he added.
“To those who are betting on a space for the simple fact of having a relationship with a leader, I tell them to get to work,” he said and announced that all these ideas will be materialized with the reform of its statutes next November.
85 years ago, he said, we were not born to see who we allied ourselves with. “No acronym will take precedence over ours,” he said. The alliance that we will have is with the authentic leaders in the country, he explained.
