An investigation is underway after a helicopter crashed near an intersection in California’s Huntington Beach Saturday afternoon, injuring several people, reports ABC News. Multiple videos shared on social media showed that the aircraft came down on PCH and Huntington Street. The wreckage is wedged between trees and the front of the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Details are still emerging, but preliminary dispatch information from the California Highway Patrol indicates that the crash occurred around 2:09 p.m. near the Cars ‘N Copters on the Coast event site, in front of the Waterfront Beach Resort, reports ktla.
According to Huntington Beach policetwo people inside the helicopter were safely rescued from the wreckage in unknown conditions. Police reported that three people were injured on the street. All five individuals were transported to the hospital. The area has been sealed off, reports the outlet. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
