From left to right, the opposition to the Government of Luís Montenegro wants public service workers whose career progression (and respective salary increase) depends on the points obtained in the performance evaluation to have a new accelerator for freeze recovery suffered between 2005 and 2007 and between 2011 and 2017. The logic is clear.

From Bloco de Esquerda to Chega, through Livre and PS, several parties want the recovery of careers and salaries to be complete (and not just partial, as until now), as is already being applied to teachers, in a phased manner, until 2027. The PCP wants to go even further, abolishing the current public service performance evaluation regime.

The parties presented several draft resolutions in the Assembly of the Republic, which are discussed and voted on in plenary this Wednesday. Is there any expectation among Public Administration (AP) unions that the proposals (or part of them) can be discussed at a specialty level in Parliament, possibly without a vote, or with a vote that allows this discussion. The draft resolutions highlight that there is a question of equity at stake with the full recovery of service time already applied by the Government to teachers.
